1. Can a citizen put an item on the City Commission meeting agenda?

There are several ways to get an item addressed such as contacting the appropriate department or attending the appropriate citizen advisory board meeting. However, the City Manager must approve all items to be placed on a City Commission agenda.

2. Where can I get a copy of the agenda for a City Commission meeting?

Agendas are posted 24 hours before a City Commission meeting. Therefore, agendas are usually posted Friday afternoons, prior to a Monday City Commission Meeting at 5:30 pm. You may pick up a copy of the agenda in the City Manager’s Office, located at City Hall (516 East Grand Avenue), or print a copy off of the City’s website.

3. When does this fiscal year begin for the City of Ponca City?

Each fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30. The budgeting process includes the careful review and analysis of not just anticipated expenditures, but revenue projections, new programs, capital projects, and outside agency requests. After the City Manager reviews and finalizes the budget, it is then presented to the City Commission for approval.
