The City’s Wastewater Division is responsible for the:

• Disposal of residual solids (sludge)
• Operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection system
• Treatment of sewage

A group of dedicated professionals from this division maintains a collection system that includes 177 miles of pipes and 12 pump stations and operates a treatment plant with a capacity of 9 million gallons per day. View more about the treatment process.
 
Current Projects
The Division currently has two projects that have received funding from the stimulus program. One project is to install a 450KW generator at the main lift station to provide power during an electrical outage.

The other project is to replace a 30+ year old lift station that serves the north-central part of the City. The total cost for both projects is $439,000. The stimulus funding will reduce our cost by as much as 20%.
