Schedule of Summer Activites
Updated: May 12, 2010

Summer Kick Off Parties
Kick Off Party: May 28th   11:00 to 2:00 p.m. sign up for the summer reading program and children’s story time at the Library. At 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Will Hill and Jehnean Washington, the Native American story tellers, will be here to perform in the program room. In between 12:00 and 1:00, Kay County Conservation District will have some hands on table activities upstairs in the Library.

Make a Splash:  Read!

Children set their own reading goal for the summer; and can sign up any time before June 25th.  Turning their reading lists (logs) in between August 1 and August 15th, they will receive a real metal reading medal!

It’s a great way to encourage children to practice their reading over the summer!

Be a Mind Traveler:  Read!

Teens can sign up for a summer book club in which they will review 3 classics (furnished), and three books of their choosing (not furnished).  They can decide when to meet and how to communicate when not meeting (blog, twitter, facebook, etc.).  At the end of the summer they will receive a book bag.

Free Special Performers

The special performers will, generally, be here on Fridays at 1:00 p.m. for an hour long program
