The Ponca City Fire Department serves a population of more than 26,000 people and an area of 400 square miles. The City of Ponca City has an ISO classification 3. Response units and personnel are deployed from four stations strategically located throughout the City.
Ponca City personnel are cross-trained in the emergency medical services(EMS) . The EMS teams are able to bring some medical skills of the emergency room into the field.
Ponca City firefighters operate on three different 24-hour shifts, each running from 8:00 am to 8:00 am. Each shift trains together, as well as maintains fire and emergency medical service apparatus.

The Ponca City Fire Departments goal is for everyone to have a working smoke detector.
File of Life Packet
The File of Life is a medical information packet designed to provide emergency personnel a quick medical history if a patient is not able. The sticker inside should be placed on the front door of the residence to alert responding medical personnel to locate the entire pocket, which is held with a magnet to the outside of the refrigerator. A packet can be obtained at any local fire station.
